Captain Ibrahim Adeboyega Olugbade (born 2 June 1962) is a Master Mariner who currently occupies the position of the Alternate Permanent Representative to the ""International Maritime Organisation"" (IMO). He worked in the Nigerian-based ""Nigerian Ports Authority"". (NPA) in his Early life before he was transferred to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), where he worked for several years. Until his employment at Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Ibrahim was an Assistant General Manager, Marine, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), a position in which he was in charge of all marine-related issues in the PA Eastern Pilotage District. He qualified as a master mariner in Australia in 1992. He holds various professional and academic qualifications from Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt; the Australian Maritime College, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia; Rivers State University of Science and Technology; and Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, Akwa-Ibom State. Olugbade belongs to several professional bodies. He is a member of the International Federation of Shipmasters' Associations (IFSMA), London, England, and a fellow of both the Nautical Institute of Technology and Institute of Shipping Technology Nigeria. He is currently based in London, United Kingdom. ==Early life== Ibrahim was born in a neighborhood in Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria, third of nine children. He is of Yoruba ancestry. Ibrahim had a Muslim upbringing and was introduced to Education at Apapa Baptist School where he stayed for two years. He later moved to Township Primary School, Port Harcourt where he acquired his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1974. He graduated on to Ahoada County High School in Port Harcourt where he later moved to after his father had a business transfer. He earned his WAEC/GCE Certificate in 1980. Ibrahim moved on to the Maritime Academy of Nigeria where he earned National Diploma of Nautical Science in 1983. Already in position to work, Ibrahim captained his first ship, River Andoni which was named after local government Andoni. Ibrahim then furthered his Education to the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, Egypt. There he acquired his First and Second Mate Certificate Of Competency and graduated in 1988. He later enrolled to Australian Maritime College in Launceston, Australia where he earned his Diploma of Applied Science Master Class I (FG) in 1993.
